This September witnessed a wide range of interesting new releases ranging between various genres. Here are a few albums and EPs which have been released this past few weeks.
Hello Psychaleppo – Toyour
On the Facebook page they explain Hello Psychaleppo with these lines: „He uses melodies of the Arab bedouin “Mawwals” and the ecstatic strains of tarab, and threads it through convoluted, industrial structures made from dubstep, drum & bass, electro and trip-hop.“, there is an interview with him published a few days back which you can read here. Toyour was released on Soundcloud. You can listen to the previous albums there as well.
Zeid Hamdan & Maii Waleed – Ehdefni
Zeid Hamdan and Maii Waleed collaborated together since 2010. Their music is somewhere along electro-indie pop. Ehdefni contains four new songs. Zeid Hamdan released a couple of weeks ago new material on his own which you can check out here.
The trio Maryam Saleh, Tamer Abu Ghazaleh and Maurice Louca released for the first time an album on September 22, 2017 „Lekhfa“. It is a very experimental project. The National published an interview with Maryam Saleh where she discusses the new album which you can read here.
Adonis – Nour
The band Adonis from Beirut released their new album „Nour“ this September. Adonis was formed back in 2011 and is a four-piece Lebanese pop/rock band.
Postcards – I’ll be here in the morning
Postcards, a dream pop band from Beirut released a new album „I’ll be here in the morning“. The first single was Bright Lights and the music video was filmed and edited by Camille Cabbabé. After releasing some singles this is the first full-length album. The album will be released via Ruptured.
Fayrouz – Bebalee
Bebalee was released on September 22, 2017. It includes a cover of John Lennon’s „Imagine“. It contains ten new songs. The song „Yemken“ (Maybe) was produced by her daughter Reema Rahbany and it was the second single of the album.
